It’s A No Go=(

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

Darn it!  Didn’t get into my groupmates’ section, didn’t get my favored sked… What is up with the universe?!  It’s the exact same sked without my gal pals… (Sigh!) Why me?

I’ll probably contemplate on it for a couple of hours then jump to adjustment stage.  I guess I’m just used to meeting new faces each semester so it ain’t breaking my heart… I just pray to get a good set of classmates and groupmates. Please! No bad eggs…  hehehe, you can just tell I want to start over when it comes to that area;p My thing with Muse didn’t really work out.  He certainly tested the limits of my understanding before I can even get to step 2.

Time to shake it off ala Mariah.  As Bogart says, the problem of this little person doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.  Positive, think positive!   What to look forward to as 2006 ends:

1.  The possibility of new friends and great professors - save me from freeloaders and boredom
2.  Better time management - darn it, I’ll make the most out of my VLs
3.  Christmas! - My favorite season of the year=)
     a. Shopping - Can’t wait to go back to 168 to get little somethings for my chums.  Isn’t it great?  I have an excellent reason to shop.  The way I figure it, it’s really better to give than to receive despite the limited budget.  I feel like a winner each time I compare the prices of the items bought from the mall and those in Divi.  Nevermind the headache of going through all those stalls and listing everything down; then going back a second and third time.  Knowing me, it’s better if I go at it alone or have my sis LM with me.  She may be bigger but I can drag her around hehehe… And we usually end up buying the same gifts.
    b. Caroling, Simbang Gabi, Eve masses - I love the songs, the decorations, the generosity of people.  There’s just something in the air!  So many happy events…  If you’ve been in a choir since you were little, you’d understand the euphoria of singing carols for a household or a crowd…  Well, even if you haven’t…  I miss making the actual trinklets we’d hang on the Christmas tree.  I remember the glue gun being my best friend;p Shiny ribbons, paper… Twinkling lights!  The belen was a biggie compared to the simple wooden figures we have now.  Everything was so colorful.  What else?  Oh, the masses… Other than spreading the Good News, the occasion gives you the perfect excuse to kiss the people you’re with… Ahem, lots of kiddos took advantage of it for sure…  Not excluding myself hahaha

There goes my cheering up session…  Really gonna miss my girlfriends from Group C - Shawie, Ate Myra, Luisa…  I’ll see you around for sure;p

On A Slow Cruise

Not seeing that much action this sembreak.  Just hanging out at my place and watching Friends dvds.  After almost 3 hours of going through the first seasons, I think I’ve hit my limit;p   My pal Tin says I have this fascination for moving objects and sound - as in may sarili akong mundo when watching TV.  That’s why I don’t watch TV often…  That distracting, hehehe… I’ve met up with an old buddy from eTel, which was neat=)  At least, she’s been getting some action in the dating scene - you go girl!  You’d think that having 3 weeks of vacation would mean more action for moi…  Nuh-uh.  No thanks…  Time to appreciate my bed.  You really don’t realize the value of having sleep till it’s cut in half for 5 months at a time.

Could I just say how frustrating enrollment is at Fatima this schoolyear?!  I don’t think I’ve had as many problems compared to my first two years there when I was still with eTel.  Last summer I had to go to school 3 times or was it 4 just to get a section!  Now, I have to return after 3 long, gruelling lines last Monday.  I don’t get it.  I’m just enrolling for NCM 102.  They have my grades showing I passed NCM 101 lecture and duty.  What is so difficult signing me up?  I’ve only got one minor left and that’s English 8, which I feel would be a waste of money given that I’ve taken up 4 English subjects previously.  Funny thing here is the subject will have you go through speech lab.  And I’ve been working in the call center industry for … too long! hehehe=)  Man, I wish could show them the speech training  I had at eTel.  Even just having Lara as a best friend will be testimony to my training…. hehehe, she’s a great teacher;p  Hay, my negotiation skills must be nonexistent.  But still, why the issues with enrollment?!  It’s a mystery.   My favorite groupmates from 101 are all classmates… Arrgh!  I should’ve gotten a sked first after lining up that early…  Anyway, all I’m praying for is to have at least the sked I requested for.  That will probably not get me in the same section with my friends but at least more convenient…  Wow, I’m even boring myself to death writing this but what is frustration, huh?  Moving on, I hope to see other buddies before the sembreak ends and finally get this enrollment thing done later. Time to hit the sack=)

Fast Forward to the End of 1st Sem

Wow, how did my first semester end without a bang?  Sheesh, it must’ve been that Milenyo’s fault.  He took away our moment of victory.  That natural progression to our finals week was hacked by one freaking whirlwind.  Days of boredom, darkness and heat!  Next thing I knew, we were cramming papers, projects and discussions into one week. Then came finals…  When the dust finally settled, I didn’t even have that senti moment of thinking how I’ll miss my classmates… Something really got chopped there.   Anyway, it’s sembreak - yipee! As usual, it starts with my birthday… vanity of vanities…  Thanks to all those who attended and greeted me=)  Love ya, all!  After Saturday night’s shift, I dragged half my team to my place for brunch - there was a slow trickle of guests… from VIP, work, highschool, college, village.  Cool!  Food was great - of course, my spicy tuna carbonara plus mama’s awardwinning callos were top sellers.  My first time to mix kesong puti & olives into regular salad greens - awesome;p Man oh man… it’s back to the gym tomorrow.  To cap Sunday’s events, I watched Novo Concertante’s Celebr8 with good buddy, Arnie.  Ang galing talaga!  Especially our fellow HDPP friend Judith Bongo=) Novo’s quite unique.  They use their vocal skill not just with your regular choral pieces- although they’re lovely as they are.  They do animal sounds ala Lion King (Circle of Life). Gotta love Pagumun (a tale of two sparrows) where you’d feel like you’re in the middle of a rainforest listening to them render it. Ayun, kaya panoorin niyo sila Dec 8 & 9 for their Christmas concerts.  I’ll post some more info later on=) What is a fan?!  On my real birthday, I slept in.  Watched First Day High as I promised myself - although I missed the first 10 minutes of the film.  Nevermind, I’ll just watch with LM or PILE. It was a bunch of laughs - may mga corny Pinoy moments with the singing and dancing.  That brainy high girl needs more improvement with both acting AND singing.  I think they were trying to make up for her lack of acting ability with singing. Sheesh, it doesn’t necessarily mean that when you can carry a tune, you’re a great singer.   Something’s wrong with her English accent. Hay, lumalabas tuloy ang pagka-critic ko. Buti pa si Cherry Pie Picache, winner talaga!  The MVP high dude is cute - I can see this kid going places. Nice guy, Sosi and Rebel were veterans so ok sila.  My birthday US time:  HDPP had this slumber party theme.  Got to wear Tin’s gift - purple robe and nightie with matching moon and stars.  hehehe, what is shining, shimmering, splendid? I think I may have offended some people’s sensibilities;p  A costume party is a costume party.  Panindigan, taas-noo=)  The next two weeks of vacation should be interesting.  It’s time to meet up with long lost buddies and gal pals.  Drag one’s self back to gym. Perhaps, go out of town - I wish!
